Recently, Canalys released the ranking of key smartphone manufacturers in the global market for 2024. The data shows that in 2024, the global smartphone market grew by 7% to reach 1.22 billion units, rebounding after two consecutive years of decline. Apple Inc. (AAPL.US) successfully maintained its position at the top of the market for the second year in a row, thanks to growth in emerging markets and stable performance in North America and Europe, offsetting challenges in the Chinese mainland market. In 2024, iPhone shipments decreased by 1% to 225.9 million units. Samsung closely followed, focusing on profitability with shipments also declining by 1% to 222.9 million units. Xiaomi (01810) held third place and became the largest contributor to industry shipments growth in 2024. With strong momentum in the Chinese mainland market and continued strategic expansion in emerging markets, Xiaomi's shipments grew by 15% to 168.6 million units. Transsion (688036.SH) entered the top four for the first time, while OPPO (including OnePlus) ranked fifth, with 15% and 3% growth to 1.067 billion units and 1.036 billion units, respectively.
