China Tourism Group Duty Free Corporation (01880) announced that in August 2024, the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, and the State Administration of Taxation issued a notice on improving the policy of in-city duty-free shops, adding 1 in-city duty-free shop in 8 new cities. After the policy was announced, the company actively participated in the bidding for the operation rights of in-city duty-free shops. Recently, the company has successively received notifications that its wholly-owned subsidiary, China Duty-Free Goods (Group) Co., Ltd., has successfully won the operation rights of in-city duty-free shops in six cities: Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Fuzhou, Chengdu, and Tianjin. Together with the original 7 in-city duty-free shops, the company now has in-city duty-free shops in 13 cities. Winning the operation rights of 6 in-city duty-free shops will enable the company to fully leverage its advantages, integrate existing procurement and operational resources, and fully establish a new retail model of "duty-free + taxable goods", "import + domestic", "offline + online".
