NVIDIA Corporation(NVDA.US) announced that it will host its first Quantum Day at the GTC conference from March 17th to 21st. In an article on its website, NVIDIA Corporation stated that the CEO, Jensen Huang, will discuss various quantum-related topics at the conference, including "what is possible and available in quantum computing now, and the direction of quantum technology development." NVIDIA Corporation also mentioned that they will discuss the latest news in quantum computing, as well as "progress made in shortening the time to useful applications." The company added that representatives from D-Wave Quantum (QBTS.US), IonQ (IONQ.US), Rigetti Computing (RGTI.US), and several other quantum computing companies will be attending the conference. As of the time of writing, pre-market trading on Wednesday saw a rise in quantum computing concept stocks, with Rigetti Computing up over 13%, D-Wave Quantum up over 25%, Quantum Computing (QUBT.US) up over 17%, Arqit Quantum (ARQQ.US) up over 20%, and IonQ up over 10%. In terms of news, investment bank B.Riley Securities maintained a "buy" rating for Rigetti Computing and D-Wave Quantum, raising their target prices to $8.50 and $9.00 respectively, citing exciting technological progress and growing commercial potential. Analyst Craig Ellis pointed out that despite concerns about scaling challenges and competition from WINOX, the quantum computing sector still has strong long-term growth prospects due to advancements in quantum systems, growing commercial applications, and increasing government interest. It is worth noting that on the evening of January 7th, Jensen Huang stated in response to analyst questions that "very useful" quantum computers may still be decades away. Huang said, "If you say that a very useful quantum computer will be available in fifteen years, that might be too early. If you say thirty years, it might be too pessimistic; if you say within a twenty-year timeframe, I think many of us would believe that." Following Huang's comments, quantum computing concept stocks in the US market all fell on January 8th.
