Netherlands teams up with NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) to accelerate the construction of AI supercomputing facilities.
The Dutch government has reached a cooperation agreement with Nvidia to advance a potential artificial intelligence (AI) facility construction, providing necessary hardware and technical knowledge for the facility.
The Dutch government announced on Thursday that they have reached a partnership with NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) to advance a potential artificial intelligence (AI) facility, providing the necessary hardware and technical expertise for the facility. As part of the European Union's efforts to promote the European digital economy, the Netherlands plans to build a new facility that will allow for AI "supercomputers" to be involved in research and development.
It is understood that the Dutch government allocated 204.5 million (US$210 million) for this project last year, and there are plans to further support the project using subsidies from Europe.
Minister of Economic Affairs, Dekker Beeljats, stated after meeting with NVIDIA Corporation that the agreement reached significantly increases the chances of the project's success, but he did not disclose more specific details about the collaboration.
He emphasized, "Competition is extremely fierce, with the world all vying for this technology. However, this deal undoubtedly brings us one step closer to establishing an artificial intelligence facility in the Netherlands."
