On the news front, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the United States said it is suing Walmart Inc. (WMT) and Branch Messenger, accusing them of forcing delivery drivers to use expensive deposit accounts to receive payment and deceiving workers. The agency said in a statement that the two companies opened Branch accounts for Spark drivers. Walmart Inc. then deposited the drivers' wages into these accounts without their consent.
