On December 19th local time, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT can now be used in an increasing number of Apple desktop applications, a progress in their efforts.
The desktop version of ChatGPT introduced the "Work With Apps" feature, supporting automation collaboration with native applications. In addition to programming applications like VS Code and Xcode, the desktop version of ChatGPT also integrates with office applications such as Apple Notes, Notion, and Quip, and advanced voice modes can also work in collaboration with these applications.
OpenAI stated that the new feature has been launched in the macOS version of ChatGPT, available to Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Education users, with plans to open up to Windows versions and free users next year.
"We have put a lot of effort into desktop applications," said Kevin Weil, Chief Product Officer at OpenAI during a live stream on Thursday. "As ChatGPT evolves, it will become more and more agentive."
"ChatGPT will continue to do more and more, including desktop applications. It will help you automate more work, and by 2025, our desktop applications will have even more capabilities," he added.
Today, OpenAI announced support for ChatGPT in Apple Notes, Notion, and Quip applications. OpenAI also added support for advanced voice modes in the application functionalities.
