On the news front, films for the 2025 Spring Festival box office have recently begun to be scheduled, with "Feng Shen Part 2: Battle of Xiqi," "Boonie Bears: The Wild Life," and "The Legend of the Condor Heroes: Great Heroes" all announced to be scheduled for January 29, 2025 (the first day of Lunar New Year). Zhonghang Securities stated that with the increase in high-quality movie supply in 2025, coupled with the boost in viewing demand and support from the government's policies on consumption, the firm is optimistic about the improvement in expectations for the 2025 Spring Festival box office in the short term.
Additionally, reports have indicated that provinces such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Henan, Hunan, and Yunnan have issued movie consumption vouchers since the beginning of the year. In terms of amount, the vouchers issued in each province range from 10 million to 45 million RMB, with a total national investment exceeding 300 million RMB according to CCTV News. China Securities Co., Ltd. estimates that the gradual issuance of movie consumption vouchers by provinces nationwide is expected to drive approximately 1 billion RMB in box office revenue, thus the recovery in supply combined with the activity of consumption vouchers is expected to jointly stimulate demand recovery.
