Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in October, the total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 4.536 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period last year, with the growth rate accelerating by 1.6 percentage points from the previous month.
According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in October, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 4.5396 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year, with the growth rate accelerating by 1.6 percentage points compared to the previous month. Excluding automobiles, the retail sales of consumer goods reached 4.0944 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.9%. From January to October, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 39.896 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.5%, with retail sales excluding automobiles reaching 35.9039 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.9%.
By location of the operating unit, in October, urban retail sales of consumer goods reached 3.9255 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.7% year-on-year; rural retail sales of consumer goods reached 614.1 billion yuan, an increase of 4.9%. From January to October, urban retail sales of consumer goods reached 3.45124 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.4%; rural retail sales of consumer goods reached 538.36 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4%.
By type of consumption, in October, the retail sales of goods reached 4.0444 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.0% year-on-year; dining revenue reached 495.2 billion yuan, an increase of 3.2%. From January to October, the retail sales of goods reached 3.54593 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.2%; dining revenue reached 443.67 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9%.
By retail format, from January to October, the retail sales of convenience stores, specialty stores, and supermarkets in retail units above quota increased by 4.7%, 3.9%, and 2.6% respectively; while the retail sales of department stores and brand exclusive stores decreased by 3.0% and 1.1% respectively.
From January to October, the national online retail sales reached 1.23632 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.8% year-on-year. Of this, the retail sales of physical goods online reached 1.033 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.3%, accounting for 25.9% of the total retail sales of consumer goods; within the retail sales of physical goods online, the categories of food, clothing, and daily use products increased by 17.7%, 4.7%, and 7.7% respectively.
