On November 15th, the National Immigration Administration issued an announcement on the pilot use of "non-display of documents" channels at the Shenzhen Bay and Gongbei ports. The announcement stated that starting from November 20, 2024, mainland residents aged 14 and above, holding valid Hong Kong and Macau Travel Permits with multiple valid stays, visits, business, talent, or other types of endorsements for travel to Hong Kong and Macau, as well as Hong Kong and Macau residents holding valid Mainland Travel Permits (including non-Chinese nationals) who agree to have their facial, fingerprint, and other information collected and verified by border inspection authorities, can choose to use the on-site "non-display of documents" channel for passage, without the need to present physical entry and exit documents. The original text is as follows: Announcement of the General Administration of Immigration of the People's Republic of China on the Pilot Use of "Non-Display of Documents" Channel at Shenzhen Bay and Gongbei Ports Number 9, 2024 In order to further facilitate the movement of people between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macau regions and improve customs clearance efficiency, the General Administration of Immigration of the People's Republic of China has decided to pilot the upgrade of some rapid inspection channels at the Shenzhen Bay Port in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, and the Gongbei Port in Zhuhai City. Individuals who frequently travel between Hong Kong and Macau privately can pass through the "non-display of documents" channel. The announcement is as follows: Starting from November 20, 2024, mainland residents aged 14 and above holding valid Hong Kong and Macau traveling documents with multiple valid stays, visits, business, talent, or other endorsements for travel to Hong Kong and Macau, as well as Hong Kong and Macau residents holding valid Mainland Travel Permits (including non-Chinese nationals) who agree to have their facial, fingerprint, and other information collected and verified by border inspection authorities, can choose to use the on-site "non-display of documents" channel for passage, without the need to present physical entry and exit documents. Those who choose to pass through other inspection channels must present their valid entry and exit documents for border checks. Mainland residents holding official entry and exit documents are currently not eligible to use the "non-display of documents" channel and must pass through other inspection channels for border checks. Since mainland residents need to present certificates for inspection when entering Hong Kong and Macau, and Hong Kong and Macau residents need to present certificates for residence, travel, and other matters when entering the mainland, all individuals traveling between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macau regions should still carry their valid entry and exit documents with them. For any questions, please contact the 12367 service hotline. This announcement is hereby made.
