Green COP29 | Central New Egypt Holding Group (01735) Shines on United Nations Stage, Dr. Liu Zhifeng Talks about the Future of Energy Transformation.

On November 11th, the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) was held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, and CENTRAL NEW EGY Holdings Group Limited (01735) was once again invited to participate in the conference. On the 13th, a theme side event titled "Energy Transition: Issues and Possibilities" was held at the Biosphere Solution Pavilion 3. The Vice Chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Gu Shengzu, China's Special Envoy on Climate Change, Liu Zhenmin, Chairman and Party Secretary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, Ma Yongsheng, COP29 Committee Member and Spokesperson Ayan Najaf, Advisor to the Minister of Ecology and Environment of Azerbaijan, Nasirov Ilham, CEO of the Energy Foundation China, Zou Ji, General Manager of the Azerbaijan National Oil Company, Elmir Musayev, along with representatives from LONGi Green Energy Technology, Zhuanzhuan Group, TuYa Intelligent, and CENTRAL NEW EGY Holdings Group (01735.HK), attended the meeting; Wang Shi, founder of Vanke Group and Shen Shi Group, and Chairman of Vanke Public Welfare Foundation, delivered a welcome speech via video. Dr. Liu Zhifeng, General Manager of Central Low-Carbon New Energy (Anhui) Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CENTRAL NEW EGY Holdings Group, gave a fascinating presentation at the themed roundtable discussion focusing on "CENTRAL NEW EGY Holdings Group's Vision and Actions at COP29." In his opening speech, China's Special Envoy on Climate Change, Liu Zhenmin, stated that achieving a global energy transition away from fossil fuels in a fair, orderly, and equitable manner requires policy guidance from governments around the world, as well as relentless efforts from entrepreneurs. He pointed out that the global energy transition still has a long way to go and expressed a keen hope for entrepreneurs to actively contribute to economic development. Elmir Musayev, General Manager of the Azerbaijan National Oil Company's Green Limited Liability Company, also made an opening speech stating that Azerbaijan is committed to increasing the share of renewable energy in its current energy consumption and looks forward to cooperating with investors from various countries, including China, to achieve the energy transition. Nasirov ILHAM, Advisor to the Minister of Ecology and Environment of Azerbaijan, spoke as a special guest, discussing Azerbaijan's encouragement of the electric vehicle industry with various renewable energy projects, particularly focusing on cooperation projects with Chinese companies, and believes that the future cooperation prospects between the two countries will be even broader. Dr. Liu Zhifeng emphasized in the roundtable discussion that as a representative of green clean energy, China's photovoltaic technology is not only a valuable resource domestically but also an important wealth to be shared with the world in the long term. The photovoltaic cell efficiency independently developed by CENTRAL NEW EGY Holdings Group has now reached 26.72%, and the latest experimental results in Azerbaijan show that the cost per kilowatt-hour has dropped to as low as 1.2 cents. If such cost-effective photovoltaic technology can be widely applied, it will bring about a revolutionary change in the energy system in Azerbaijan and its surrounding areas. Meanwhile, in May and October of this year, CENTRAL NEW EGY Holdings Group established the "Central Low Carbon-Sunshine New Energy Photovoltaic Technology Joint Innovation Laboratory" and the "Fudan GJ-CENTRAL NEW EGY Industry Research Center" in collaboration with Sunshine New Energy and Fudan University International Finance School, respectively, gathering innovative and talent forces to propose a package solution focusing on the issues caused by the instability of future photovoltaic wind energy, energy storage, hydrogen ammonia, and the layout of low-carbon industrial zones. The goal is to push for a global green energy structure transformation with a maximum global temperature increase by the end of this century not exceeding 1.5C.
