Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN.US) announces new management plan: employees will work in the office five days a week and the organization will flatten.
One key adjustment Amazon has recently made is hoping to return employees to their pre-pandemic work state, working in the office five days a week.
On Monday, Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN.US) CEO Andy Jassy said in a letter to employees that a key adjustment recently is that the e-commerce giant hopes employees will return to working in the office five days a week, as before the pandemic. Amazon.com, Inc. will resume assigning office desks at locations where this model was previously used, including its U.S. headquarters in Puget Sound and Arlington, Virginia.
The Seattle-based company also stated that teams should organize themselves to increase the ratio of individual contributors to managers by at least 15% by the end of the first quarter of 2025. Reducing managers is seen as an easier way to eliminate layers and flatten the organization than it is now.
