According to the Securities Times app, on August 7, Cui Dongshu posted that in the first half of 2025, 220,000 imported cars were imported, a year-on-year decrease of 32%, which is a rare major decline in the first half of the year. Among them, 43,000 imported cars were imported in June, a year-on-year decrease of 30%, a month-on-month decrease of 9% from May. After reaching a peak of 1.43 million imported cars in 2014, imports have been declining since then. The import growth rate slightly stabilized and improved in 2016-2017, but has been continuously declining since 2018. The import volume in 2024 continued to sharply decline, with only 700,000 imported cars imported for the whole year, a year-on-year decrease of 12%. Currently, the continuous shrinkage pressure on imported cars remains significant.
