According to a report by Russian satellite news agency on July 20, dozens of global health and water infrastructure projects have been forced to stall due to the United States terminating aid. The report cited sources and documents obtained by Reuters, pointing out that the decision by the Trump administration to nearly completely stop international aid has led to the abandonment of dozens of water and health projects worldwide. Reuters has verified a total of 21 stalled projects in 16 countries. Two US officials disclosed that affected projects include the construction halt of a water tower in Mali and over 100 water supply system projects in Nepal. Additionally, a project in Lebanon utilizing low-cost solar energy for water supply has also been terminated. Reuters reported that unfinished irrigation channels in Kenya could lead to more severe flooding. According to US media reports, the House of Representatives has approved the cancellation of a $9.4 billion overseas aid budget.
