The northern section of the Duku Highway in Xinjiang is accelerating its rescue operations and is expected to resume traffic by July 21st.

The reporter learned from the Xinjiang Transportation Department that recently, due to continuous rainfall, the G217 Duku Highway section from Dushanzi to Qiemo experienced mountain collapses and mudslides. After comprehensive inspection and assessment by experts from the highway department, it was confirmed that there are multiple risks of rockslides in this section, and it is not safe for passage. The highway department has implemented a closure for both directions of traffic in this section, and it is expected to reopen for passage at 08:00 on July 21st.
