According to the Beijing Meteorological Department, from 20:00 on July 19th to 8:00 on the 20th, the average precipitation in Beijing was 25.0 millimeters, reaching the level of heavy rain. The average in the urban area was 16.9 millimeters, with Yanqing, Huairou, Miyun, Chaoyang, Daxing, and Tongzhou having a total of 47 stations with precipitation exceeding 50 millimeters; the highest was 90.9 millimeters in Huairou Xiwanzi. From 7:00 to 8:00, the maximum precipitation was in Daxing Yingjiapu, reaching 13.6 millimeters. According to the forecast, this morning to daytime, Beijing will still have overcast with light to moderate rain turning into scattered showers or thunderstorms, with a high temperature of 29 and a low temperature of 23. Although today is the beginning of the hottest days of summer (liqiu), the rain has sent away the heat, bringing coolness. The meteorological department reminds everyone to pay attention to rain and traffic safety when going out in rainy weather, and be careful of geological disasters in mountainous areas.
