Typhoon "Vipa" has covered the entire Pearl River Delta with wind speeds of level 7.
At 8:00 a.m. this morning, the center of the typhoon was only about 70 kilometers away from Hong Kong, and about 130 kilometers away from Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province in the east-southeast direction. Currently, the 7th level wind circle of the typhoon has covered the Pearl River Delta region. Due to the subtropical high pressure on the north side of the typhoon, there will be strong winds on the north side of the typhoon. this morning, gusts of 9-10 levels have been recorded in some coastal areas of eastern Guangdong. It is expected that from 8:00 a.m. on July 20 to 8:00 a.m. on July 21, winds in the northern South China Sea, southern Guangdong and coastal areas, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Macao, Leizhou Peninsula and its coastal areas, coastal Guangxi, and Beibu Bay could reach 8-11 levels, with gusts of 12-13 levels. Winds in the nearby sea areas and regions where the typhoon center passes could reach 12-14 levels, with gusts of 15-16 levels. Typhoon "Weipa" is expected to continue to strengthen and make landfall in Guangdong at its peak intensity.
