Co-building the medical MCP service system, China Unicom will promote the large-scale and practical application of medical artificial intelligence.

On July 19th, at the 2025 China Unicom Partner Conference "Smart Medical Forum", China Unicom Vice General Manager Hao Liqian stated that as one of the earliest telecom operators to enter the medical sector, China Unicom has established Unicom Smart Medical Company in Guangdong and Beijing Medical Health Big Model Company successively, forming a service team of over 3000 people, serving more than 50 top-ranking hospitals and over 2000 medical institutions nationwide. China Unicom actively participates in the national healthcare top-level planning and practical exploration, and will actively implement the "AI+" action as the core focus and main track of the strategy to serve the construction of a healthy China. Hao Liqian stated that in the future, China Unicom is willing to work with partners to jointly serve the construction of a healthy China in three aspects: first, in terms of computing resources, fully leverage the advantage of computing network to reduce the threshold for medical institutions to use it; second, in terms of data modeling, will collaborate with medical institutions, research units, and industry partners to build a specialized disease annotation alliance, constructing data engineering capabilities from data governance to annotation; third, in terms of intelligent application, will work together with partners to build a medical MCP service system, promote the scale application and operational service of medical artificial intelligence. It is reported that the forum also released China Unicom's "Medical Artificial Intelligence New Infrastructure", "Medical Intelligent Platform", and "Smart Traditional Chinese Medicine Series Achievements".
