In the first half of the year, Hubei's GDP increased by 6.2% year-on-year.

According to the Hubei Provincial Bureau of Statistics, based on the unified accounting of regional gross domestic product, the province achieved a GDP of 2964.61 billion yuan in the first half of the year, with a year-on-year growth of 6.2% in constant prices. By industry, the value added of the primary industry was 1914.07 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3%; the value added of the secondary industry was 11544.28 billion yuan, an increase of 6.4%; the value added of the tertiary industry was 16184.26 billion yuan, an increase of 6.4%. In the first half of the year, Hubei's foreign trade scale reached a new high. The total import and export volume exceeded 400 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 402.31 billion yuan. The export volume and import volume increased by 38.5% and 7.4% respectively, accelerating by 16.1 and 3.2 percentage points respectively compared to the first quarter, and exceeding the national average by 31.3 and 10.1 percentage points respectively.
