On the morning of July 18th, the press conference of the 6th Asian Beach Games "Meet in Sanya, Pursue Dreams in Yasha" was held in Haikou, Hainan. The conference introduced the progress of the preparations for the Sanya Asian Beach Games, the competition events, the host city, as well as the emblem, mascot, slogan, and other details. It was revealed that the Asian Beach Games is one of the five major comprehensive sports events in Asia organized by the Olympic Council of Asia, and it is also the largest beach sports event in Asia. The event has been successfully held five times. The 6th Asian Beach Games will be held in Sanya from April 22nd to April 30th, 2026, lasting for 9 days. It is expected that nearly 10,000 athletes, coaches, government officials, and media reporters from 45 countries and regions in Asia will gather in Sanya to celebrate this sports event. The Sanya Asian Beach Games is the first intercontinental comprehensive beach sports event held in Hainan since the establishment of the province, as well as the first major sports event held in Hainan after the operation of the free trade port. The event will feature 14 major events and 15 sub-events, including swimming, beach basketball, beach athletics, beach wrestling, dragon boat racing, beach soccer, beach handball, beach kabaddi, jujitsu, sailing, rock climbing, taekwondo, triathlon, and beach volleyball. The venues for the opening and closing ceremonies have been completed, and the construction of the competition venues is progressing rapidly. All venues are expected to be delivered in batches for use by the end of this year. The emblem of the Sanya Asian Beach Games and its design concept were also announced at the conference. The emblem is composed of sunlight, ocean elements, and Hainan elements. The colors of blue, green, yellow, and orange symbolize the fashionable and open characteristics of Sanya and beach sports. The overlapping blocks form the Arabic numeral "6," conveying the important information of "6th edition". The emblem features elements such as coconut trees and sea waves that are typical of Sanya's natural beauty. The deer in the emblem symbolizes freedom and rationality, reflecting the beautiful and romantic characteristics of Sanya as a "deer city," as well as the open, inclusive, innovative qualities of the city.
