Scientists from Shanghai Stairway Medical Technology Co., Ltd. demonstrated a video showing a subject playing the game "Mario Kart" using a brain-machine interface device implanted in the brain. The subject lost all four limbs in a high-voltage electric shock accident, and in March of this year underwent surgery to implant the brain-machine interface product developed by Stairway Medical. Two flexible electrodes were implanted in the brain, and the collected brain signals were wirelessly transmitted to external devices and converted into operation intentions that computers could understand. After over a month of training, the subject is now able to operate computers through thoughts, play games like racing and chess. Stairway Medical has become the world's second company to enter the clinical stage of invasive brain-machine interfaces.
