Journalists learned from the Ministry of Emergency Management that on the 24th, the Ministry of Emergency Management initiated a level four national geological disaster emergency response in Anhui. According to the forecast from the meteorological department, from May 24th to 27th, there will be heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in southern Anhui. The Ministry of Emergency Management and the Ministry of Natural Resources conducted joint consultations and assessments, and determined that there is a high risk of geological disasters in some areas of southern Anhui. The Ministry of Emergency Management requested that relevant areas closely monitor the rainfall and flood situation, as well as the risk of geological disasters. They should implement departmental coordination mechanisms, strengthen the responsibility of local entities for prevention and response, enhance consultation, assessment, and early warning response coordination, pre-position rescue forces, materials, and equipment, reinforce inspections, monitoring, and early warning measures, organize timely evacuations, and effectively carry out geological disaster prevention and response work. It is reported that the Ministry of Emergency Management will maintain level four geological disaster emergency responses in seven provinces: Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Guizhou, Sichuan, and Chongqing.
