Afghanistan's heavy rainfall triggered a disaster that led to the deaths of 28 people.
On the evening of the 23rd, the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority stated that the disaster caused by heavy rainfall in the past 48 hours has resulted in at least 28 deaths and 10 injuries. The spokesperson for the National Disaster Management Authority, Yusuf Hamad, said in a statement on social media that heavy rainfall has affected more than ten provinces, with remote mountainous areas being particularly severely affected. A total of more than 24,000 acres of farmland nationwide have been destroyed by floods. Flash floods, landslides, lightning strikes, and other factors have led to casualties.
