According to the monitoring of the Chongqing Hydrological Station, from 8:00 on May 23 to 8:00 on May 24, heavy to torrential rain fell in parts of central and western Chongqing, as well as in the southeast, with some areas experiencing severe to exceptionally heavy rain. The water resources department predicts that from 8:00 on May 24 to 8:00 on May 25, some small and medium-sized rivers in central and western Chongqing and the northeast may experience varying degrees of rising water levels, with individual rivers possibly exceeding alert levels. From 8:00 on May 25 to 8:00 on May 27, some small and medium-sized rivers in the northeast of Chongqing may experience rising water levels, with individual rivers possibly exceeding alert levels.
