The Dutch government appointed Rob Jetten as the new Prime Minister.
On the 20th of the local time, the Dutch government announced the appointment of the leader of the Sixty-Six Democratic Party, Rob Jitten, as the new Prime Minister of the Netherlands. In June 2025, the Dutch Liberal Party withdrew from the ruling coalition due to issues with refugee asylum policy, leading to the resignation of Prime Minister Schoof's coalition government, leaving the cabinet in caretaker status. The caretaker government then decided to hold early elections for the House of Representatives on October 29th. In the elections held in the Dutch House of Representatives, the Sixty-Six Democratic Party became the largest party with a slim advantage of less than thirty thousand votes.
