ByteDance has secured a $29.6 billion loan, making it the second largest dollar loan in Asia this year.

According to reports from media outlets citing sources, ByteDance has secured a $29.6 billion loan, the proceeds of which will primarily be used for general corporate purposes. This marks the second largest U.S. dollar loan in Asia this year, following the $40 billion bridge loan signed by SoftBank Group in March. It is reported that ByteDance initially sought a financing limit of $20 billion, but ultimately increased the loan amount with support from banks. The loan attracted over $30 billion in subscriptions, has a term of 3 years, and an initial interest rate set at the secured overnight financing rate plus 68 basis points, with the loan term extendable up to a maximum of 5 years. To expand its data centers and other AI infrastructure, ByteDance's capital expenditure is expected to rise to as much as $70 billion this year, more than double compared to last year. Meanwhile, ByteDance has been intensively pushing for the release and adjustment of AI products. On August 24, ByteDance completed the strategic integration of its AI office product line. The TRAE and Coze teams will be fully integrated into the Doubao system, where TRAE Work and Coze will merge their product capabilities in work scenarios with Doubao, while TRAE IDE and CLI will continue to develop under the Doubao brand as a programming product line. On August 25, ByteDance launched Doubao Work as a new Agent product and brand introduced by Doubao for productivity scenarios. Doubao Work can autonomously break down tasks, call tools, and continuously push forward complex workflows based on user goals. Doubao Work also has deep integration with Feishu, enabling the Agent to complete tasks more accurately based on the enterprise context. Additionally, Ni Fei, President of the Terminal Division of ZTE Corporation and President of Nubia Technology Co., Ltd., announced that a new generation of Doubao phones will be officially released in September, named Nubia NaviX Ultra, positioned as the worlds first flagship AI intelligent agent.
